COVID-19 Diary – Day 30

Today Trump announced he was cutting finding to the W.H.O. which he’s been threatening to do for a few weeks. It remains to be seen if he actually has the ability to make this change, as the funding is largely controlled by the US Congress, and what effects this could have on the world’s COVID-19 fighting efforts. We learned today that Sweden’s death toll has now surpassed 1,000 people, and their decision to do very little to address the pandemic may now be further called into question. Visit Worldometers for the most recent numbers on Sweden.

In other news, BC Ferries announced that their traffic over Easter Long Weekend was down 92% from previous volumes. I just want to send a big thank you to everyone who made the decision to not travel over the previous weekend! Click here for more info from BC Ferries.

In other news, I finally received an update on my EI/CERB application, in the form of my EI Access Code, which came today in the mail. This comes as a huge relief to me, as I have no idea when my work might bring me back in, and money is starting to get a little thin.

That’s all for now, stay safe everyone!
