There isn’t a lot of news to report today. As expected, numbers of new cases continue to increase in most places. The US is seeing huge increases in their new active cases, and their doctors are starting to be threatened with firings if they speak publicly about their lack of PPE. More info can be found here. I think most can agree that the last thing any country needs during a pandemic is the loss of good doctors.
Many news articles have been pushing a “masks would solve everything” type rhetoric lately, which is very worrying. Medical experts continue to remind us that as long as people stay home as much as possible, participate in physical distancing and practice proper hygiene, you will be well guarded against infection. In situations where you can not reliably do the above, or if you are required to use an N95 mask for your job, don’t forget that eye protection is also important.
We need to take the threat of this virus seriously, and there is no better method to protect yourself and the community than isolation, physical distancing, and proper hygiene.
Prime Minister Trudeau has now gone on record saying that physical distancing and other measures to fight COVID-19 could be on-going until July, as our best case scenario. So let’s all do our part to make these conditions as brief as possible. More info can be found here.
I know a lot of people in their 30’s or younger prefer not to use their phones for phone calls, opting to message friends and family instead. But in this time where meeting up in person is frowned upon, I would like to recommend giving phone calls a try. It’s a much more personal interaction than just messaging someone, and it can really make a difference if you’re feeling especially cut-off.
