COVID-19 Diary – Day 179

Normally I would be posting the updated Monday chart today, but since it is a holiday we won’t be getting the updated details until tomorrow. Likewise, there has not been a lot of new COVID-19 news today either.

Looking at National news, Dr. Theresa Tam is urging Canadians to be more cautious as our daily average new infection numbers have increased by 25% in the last week vs the week previous. This is a particular concern as we are about to move into Fall weather, with more gatherings likely to start happening at indoor locations. You can find more info here.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can vary from person to person. Symptoms may also vary in different age groups. Remember, if you have any of the following symptoms, do not go to work or attend any in-person events. Call 811 to ask to be tested for COVID-19.

  • new or worsening cough
  • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • temperature equal to or over 38°C
  • feeling feverish
  • chills
  • fatigue or weakness
  • muscle or body aches
  • new loss of smell or taste
  • headache
  • gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting)
  • feeling very unwell
